Free SEO checker

Paste a URL and get an instant on-page SEO health check — title, meta description, headings, structured data, robots.txt, and sitemap. No account needed.

What this SEO checker actually does

This is a free on-page SEO checker. You paste a public URL; we fetch the HTML and score it with the same rules the authenticated crawler uses: title and meta description, heading structure, image alt text, canonical and viewport tags, structured data, robots.txt, and sitemap.xml.

It is one look at one page. It does not replace Google Search Console, and it does not watch your site over time. For that, SEO Insights scores every page a real visitor loads — and Core Web Vitals come from actual traffic, not this crawl. Pintelly's main product is still the feedback widget: visitors pin what is broken, with a screenshot, on the page it happened.

What the free SEO check covers

Title and meta description

Presence and length. Missing tags fail. Over-long titles and descriptions are flagged as warnings — Google truncates them, it does not always penalize them.

Headings

Exactly one H1, and heading levels that do not skip (H2 straight to H4). You also get the heading outline of the page.

Images and links

Images missing alt text, empty or generic anchor text ("click here"), and the split between internal and external links.

Indexability tags

Canonical, viewport, language attribute, and favicon — the tags crawlers use to understand and display the page.

Structured data

JSON-LD blocks are parsed and checked for validity. Missing structured data is optional, not a failure; invalid blocks are.

SSL, headers and redirects

The same fetch also inspects the certificate, security headers, and the hop chain. Dedicated pages go deeper on each.

How the free SEO checker works

1

Paste a public URL

http or https, returning HTML. Localhost, private IPs, and non-HTML responses are refused.

2

We fetch and score the page

The HTML is analyzed with the same deduction rules as a verified domain. robots.txt and sitemap.xml are separate lookups, cached for six hours.

3

You get a score and a checklist

Each check is pass, warn, or fail. Five free checks per site per day. Core Web Vitals stay behind an account because they are measured from real visitors, not this request.

Frequently asked questions

Is this SEO checker really free?+

Yes. No account is required for the on-page check. Each site can be checked five times per day. After that, try again tomorrow, or sign up to scan every page visitors actually load.

What does the free SEO check look at?+

Title and meta description, heading structure, image alt text, canonical and viewport tags, language, favicon, structured data, word count, links, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, TLS certificate, security headers, and the redirect chain. It does not run a Lighthouse lab test and it does not read Google Search Console.

How is this different from SEO Insights?+

This tool fetches one URL once. SEO Insights scores every page a real visitor loads, keeps a to-do list of issues, and attaches Core Web Vitals from actual traffic. The checker is a snapshot; Insights is the ongoing product.

Can I check any website?+

Any publicly reachable http or https HTML page. We refuse localhost, private networks, and non-HTML responses, and we do not execute JavaScript — client-rendered SPAs may look thinner than they are in the browser.

Do you store the page I check?+

We log the URL, host, score, and grade so we can see tool usage and stop abuse. We do not keep the HTML.

Does it measure Core Web Vitals?+

Not in the free check. LCP, FCP, and load time in Pintelly come from real visitor browsers after the script is installed — not from a single fetch of the HTML.
